Recently, I was honored with a legacy award for my contributions to music, media, and entertainment. While the recognition means a great deal to me, my deeper purpose has always been the same: to help unknown people discover themselves and grow into stars - particularly in the music, media, and film industries. Over time, I came to describe this mission as Star Consciousness, a mindset and spiritual framework centered on inner transformation rather than external status. The principles I use come from universal laws and teachings I learned through guidance I attribute to extraterrestrial sources. I later shaped these ideas into a book, Galactic Testament: Spiritual Wisdom from Advanced Extraterrestrial Intelligences, which reflects the message that genuine stardom begins within.

The Universal Laws of Becoming a Star

In my “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow!” column for the September 21, 2026, edition of OpinYon, I promised that after my narration of the events of Friday night and Saturday, September 22 & 23, 1972, that I would backtrack through Philippine Political History up to the November 1953 National Elections. That would be enough in terms of explaining my personal involvement in Philippine History and Politics.

The Long Roots of the September 21, 1972, to January 17, 1981 (Proclamation No. 2045 lifting Martial Law) to February 22, 1986!

 (First of two parts)

On Friday night, September 22, 2026, I had a meeting at the residence of Noel and Elin Mondejar at the second floor of a two – story building at the corner of P. Tuazon and N. Domingo Streets in southern Quezon City.

Meanwhile, one of my elder maternal first cousins, Ramon “Monchet” Albert y Araneta called just as dawn was breaking. He told me that all the AM and FM radio stations were dead. Meanwhile, Charlie and Gerry called me for us to get together and go to the residence of Liberal Party (LP) President, Senate Minority Floor Leader and Senator (1967 – 1973) Gerardo “Gerry” Roxas y de Leon on P. Tuason corner EDSA. I informed Noel and Elin Mondejar and we all went to Senator Roxas’ home.

We have lived through the usual consensus approach to national problems. It reflects the liberal idea of limiting state power through the social contract. Our Constitution is built on this idea: it protects citizens from excessive government control through checks and balances, individual rights, and democratic process.

The Forfeited Trust

I have maintained the belief that in this age of digital media, social media, content creation, and misinformation (and disinformation), a formal declaration of Martial Law such as made in 1972 is no longer needed.

Today, blanket bans of websites or even cutting off Internet service – all in the name of national security and people's safety – is enough.

The recent, sudden bans of Reddit and Discord is just the beginning.

So are the reported plans to restrict access to Meta (Facebook, Messenger and Instagram) and requiring people to register via their National IDs. (Given the persistent problems we are having with our National ID system, I believe such a plan would be a logistical nightmare both for Meta and government agencies.)

Martial Law is now online

We keep pretending that school violence is a “new problem,” as if it suddenly appeared out of nowhere. But anyone paying attention can see the trend: alarming rates, shocking incidents, and students - innocent children - killed or wounded. And after each tragedy, officials rush into the same familiar script: investigate what happened, respond to the crisis, offer counseling, tighten certain safety measures, and promise that “this won’t happen again.”

Question: When is a fraction, say 2/3, more powerful than a whole number, say 24?

Answer: In the 1987 Philippine Constitution.

When 2/3 is greater than 24

The United Nations (UN) was formed by the international community in the aftermath of World War 2. The victors in that war wanted to ensure that the losers would never again resort to militarism, fascism, and the use of force in pursuing their economic and political ambitions.

In other words, no more aggression.
