Filipinos in West Malaysia will soon be able to enjoy their favorite Chickenjoy at Sunway Pyramid. The only other Jollibee in Malaysia is located in Sabah.

Proudly Pinoy fast-food giant Jollibee is set to open its first branch in West Malaysia this month, as the country reopens its global economy.

Jollibee Foods Corp.’s (JFC) Singapore-based subsidiary Golden Plate Pte. Ltd. (GPPL) has entered a deal with Beeworks Investment Pte. Ltd. (BIPL) to develop the Jollibee brand in West Malaysia, which includes the capital city of Kuala Lumpur.

The first Jollibee branch in Malaysia opened in 2018 in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, and later announced its plan to open over 100 stores in the country in the next 10 years.

On February 8, Malaysia’s second Jollibee branch will open at Sunway Pyramid, Klang Valley.

Like the Sabah outlet, the new branch is expected to be Halal-certified as well.

This week, they shared the first look at the interiors of the new branch featuring “bright and bold wall murals” showcasing the company’s bestsellers, business history, and store network.

“We’re excited to bring the Jollibee brand to more countries around the globe, in line with our mission of serving great-tasting food,” JFC chief executive Ernesto Tanmantiong said in a press statement on Friday.

The presser also revealed Jollibee’s plans to further expand their stores in Scotland after the success of the brand’s opening in Wales last year.

JFC also shared its plans to open its 150th store in Vietnam in a “popular location” despite already having three stores in Hanoi, the capital city, and over 10 branches in Ho Chi Minh, its largest city.

To date, JFC operates in 34 countries, with over 5,800 stores globally of wholly-owned brands such as Jollibee, Chowking, Greenwich, Red Ribbon, Mang Inasal, among many.
