PULONG, YANG, MANS – DRUG LINKS?

EX-BOC officer Jimmy Guban said, in a congressional joint hearing, as reported in the Inquirer, “that the real ‘owners’ of an P11-billion drug shipment in 2018 were former President Rodrigo Duterte’s son, son-in-law and Chinese economic adviser.” Linked to the drug haul, in effect, were Paolo “Pulong” Duterte, Mans Carpio, and Michael Yang.

Social media couldn’t help but wonder how the former president, who boasted in 2016 that he will end the country’s drug problem during his term, by launching his bloody “war on drugs," is now linked as actually responsible for the proliferation of drugs, until today.

Accomplice?

People now will automatically also link as an accomplice the former president’s Davao City PNP Police Chief Bato de la Rosa then, now a senator, who led nationwide “Operation Tokhang” that resulted in the countless victims of EJKs.

It’s not far-fetched to say that people will also link to this festering drug problem Sen. Bong Go, VP Sara Duterte, and other personalities that former customs officer Jimmy Guban mentioned during that congressional joint hearing.

The truth is such a revelation has not been surprising to many concerned citizens who faithfully follow social media where facts are revealed quite openly.

More Reasons For ICC

These serious viewers of the national scene, even as they understand that fake news and disinformation abound in social media, most likely have been aware of the self-confessions of former "colleagues" of the former president.

These people, now in hiding because of real threats to their lives, are former DDS policemen Matobato and Lascanas, and lately, a veteran Drug Operative Col. Eduardo Acierto.

It looks like the International Criminal Court (ICC) has more reasons to run after the former president and his partners-in-crime, on the charge of “crimes against humanity.”

The people have been patiently, or rather, impatiently waiting, (at least for countless citizens actively engaged in real democratic change for years now), for a genuine servant-leadership at the topmost of the government bureaucracy.
