“PD 1829, Sec. 1(3): Any person who knowingly…obstructs…the apprehension of suspects …by harboring or concealing…any person he knows…has committed any offense under existing penal laws in order to prevent his arrest, prosecution and conviction.” Who is guilty of violating this PD 1829, Sec. 1(3)?

Former president Rodrigo Roa Duterte publicly claimed “alam kung saan nagtatago,” referring to Pastor Quiboloy, accused of sexual offenses and sex trafficking, and currently being sought by law enforcement authorities. Clearly, Mr. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, himself a lawyer, has again mocked the Filipino people.

Since becoming the Mayor of Davao City, along with his then Police Chief Ronald Bato de le Rosa, he implemented EJKs of suspected drug addicts or pushers, and criminals.

This mockery of the rule of law was more pronounced when he served as the country’s president for six bloody years. His mockery of the justice system began with his key programs of “Tokhang Operations” headed by his PNP Chief Ronald Bato de la Rosa and “Red-tagging” of activists and his government critics, under his NTF-ELCAC office, resulting in the EJKs of more than 30,000 Filipinos.

Apparently, his boldness to implement his EKJ programs and his continuing mockery of the justice system, and in effect, running roughshod over the people, has been founded on the loyalty of his fellow dynastic leaders in government and his business cronies who comfortably stood by with their mouths shut. Sadly, these EJKs have not completely stopped under this present administration of President Bongbong Marcos and VP Sara Duterte. Sadder still that these injustices have been carried out until today with the Filipinos’ tax money!

A Great Injustice

These widespread killing sprees, so to speak, or in essence, injustices, which include: (1) the longed-for rice at P20/kg, and affordable prices of basic food items; (2) lack of appropriate assistance to job seekers, laborers, farmers, fisher folks and IPs; (3) unabated China’s attacks on our sovereignty in the WPS, and (4) the "needs-much improvement" education system (handled by an incompetent Education secretary the past two years).

These problems, caused essentially by the former president have to be addressed ASAP! This is not to mention the need for full investigation of the Truth and Transparency (TNT) Trio’s claim of rigged May 9, 2022 Elections, since this is in fact a great injustice to the Filipino voters, and the Filipino people as a whole.

The Filipino people have long been waiting for deliverance from these injustices, mockingly carried on by the former president.

Will the erstwhile “Uniteam” leadership of President Bongbong Marcos and VP Sara Duterte boldly now implement their mandate of promoting the Constitution and the Rule of Law?
