Clear as a sunny day, former Senator Leila de Lima and former Commission on Human Rights Chairman, who had to suffer almost 7 years of illegal detention under the instigation of former president Rodrigo Roa Duterte, has pinned down, with her testimony before the Congress’ Quad Committee, the now-civilian Mr. Rodrigo Roa Duterte as guilty of being the mastermind and head-implementor of the Extra Judicial Killings (EJKs) in the country.
The number of EJK victims has been estimated by human rights watchdogs as more than 30,000. And understandably, the International Criminal Court (ICC) has considered Mr. Rodrigo Roa Duterte for investigation as probably guilty of “crimes against humanity.”
In the live-streamed hearing of the Congress’ Quad Committee, Atty. Leila de Lima detailed the step-by-step operations of former mayor and former president, Rodrigo Roa Duterte in planning and implementing his EJKs, under his so-called “war on drugs.” She sharply illustrated how RR Duterte set out recruiting the PNP personnel to serve as Operations Head, handlers, assassins, and others, with specific cash rewards, from the time he was Davao City Mayor and how he masterminded the same deadly killing-machine model nationwide when he became president.
Reality Of EJKs
What is quite interesting about the comprehensive exposition of Atty. Leila de Lima about Mr. RR Duterte’s killing spree is that everything somehow jibes with the testimonies, firmed up with official affidavits and/or oral confessions, of PNP personnel – retired PCol. Ronila Garma, PLtCol. Jovie Espinido, PCol Leandro Espinosa, Col. (Eduardo) Acierto, self-confessed DDS killers Patrolmen Edgar Matobato and Arturo Lascanas.
The reality of these EJKs and failure of the former president to stump out the drug problem in the country led PLtCol Jovie Espinido to admit in the Quad Committee hearing that “the PNP is the biggest crime group” in the country. Of course, as expected the Chief Implementor, next to RR Duterte, of the EJKs, now Sen. Roland “Bato”de la Rosa attempted to deny his involvement in the former president’s policy and program of “kill kill kill” in the “war on drugs.”
So did RR Duterte’s close aide and now senator, Christopher "Bong" Go, as he tried to question the allegations of his involvement in the giving of rewards to the direct and indirect participants of EJKs.
Truth Hurts
It should be mentioned too that current VP Sara Duterte, her husband Mr. M Carpio, Polong Duterte, and Michael Yang, have been dragged into this mess of having been responsible too in the proliferation of drugs in the market until today.
The TRUTH hurts, and it looks like Mr. Rodrigo Roa Duterte really had to call in sick to the Quad Committee. He was afraid that the Filipino people will fully know his sins of traitorous deeds when he was Davao City Mayor and President of the Philippines.
As what the SocMed enthusiasts have often said, in so many words, “Duwag nga at Sinungaling #1 itong si Digongnyo!”
The Filipino people are still crying for Truth and Justice to prevail soon, for the country to really move forward in peace and progress!
