“P*tang ina ninyo – Martin Romualdez, Liza Marcos, Bongbong Marcos!” – VP Sara Duterte yelled, as Inquirer reported. Earlier, after she was asked by a supporter about an alleged plot to wipe out the Duterte family, she replied “Don’t worry, ma’am, about my security because I have spoken to a person. I told him that if I am killed, you will kill BBM, Liza Araneta and Martin Romualdez. No joke. No joke.”

Whoa, what a brazen threat from VP Sara Duterte. She probably felt entitled to threaten anybody, and that includes the president of the country and his wife. She has carried this mood of throwing her weight around, following her father’s heartless order, and fully implemented, to “kill kill kill” suspected drug addicts, pushers, and criminals under his “War on Drugs” tokhang program. It must be noted that as Davao City mayor, Sara Duterte pursued the same program, what press people today refer to as the Davao template of EJKs, adopted on a nationwide scale when her father, Rodrigo, was president.

Intimidated

In her latest appearance at the Quad Committee hearing, November 25, 2024, she kept on interrupting the proceedings, not observing the rules set in these hearings. But the viewers wonder why the Chairs-in-charge felt intimidated such that they had to suspend the session every time VP Sara disrespectfully butted in without requesting the Chair to acknowledge her first, before talking.

In such hearings, the Representatives present should have been able to put order too, to help out in a systematic flow of the proceedings. It looks like the Representatives themselves still felt every time VP Sara opens her mouth, they see the crass killer-face of her father, now the civilian Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

Doubtless, all Filipinos of goodwill who were viewing the proceedings, somehow felt uncomfortable seeing a bullying VP Sara Duterte somewhat "controlling" the flow of discussion, despite the presence of the "honorable" gentlemen of the House of Representatives.

Evasive COS

A saving grace of the hearing is that it was getting clearer and clearer that VP Sara’s spending the confidential funds, amounting to a total of P612.5 million under her Office of the Vice President (OVP) and her Dep ED office, may have been violative of the strict rules established on spending the people’s money.

This appeared as the truth, given the evasive answers of her chief of staff, Atty. Zuleika Lopez (who was cited in contempt and detained by the quad committee), and other underlings who attended the hearings.

Death Threats

Of course, a more serious concern of the people is VP Sara Duterte’s death threats thrown at President Bongbong Marcos, his wife Liza Araneta and Speaker Martin Romualdez.

The wheels of justice in the country must be upheld by enforcement agencies – the DOJ, AFP, PNP, NBI, Ombudsman -- as well as the Senate, House of Representatives, the Judicial Courts and the Supreme Court.

So, will justice be served in this case involving VP Sara Duterte’s death threats and probable anomalous spending of the people’s money, for the satisfaction of the Filipino people, soon?

Justice Be Served

Indeed, the Filipino people are expecting that all those accountable for anomalies in the disposition of the P612.5 million in confidential funds, particularly in this case, VP Sara Duterte as head of the OVP and as secretary of DepEd, will be punished in accordance with the Constitution and the Laws of the country.

So also, will she, even as VP, be punished in accordance with the Constitution and the Rule of Law for threatening to have assassinated President Bongbong Marcos, his wife Liza Araneta-Marcos and Speaker Martin Romualdez?

Will justice be served soon in this case, as well as in the many other injustices committed under this present administration and the previous one under Mr. Rodrigo Roa Duterte?
