Wet n Wild is betting on 2000’s nostalgia plus a growing trend of partnering with cartoon brands as it announces a collaboration with the SpongeBob SquarePants franchise.

The year 2021 is all about beauty brand collaborations, and the Wet n Wild/SpongeBob SquarePants collaboration has been revealed as the latest to launch this year.
Wet n Wild (stylized as wet n wild) has introduced a collaborative collection with Nickelodeon‘s very own SpongeBob SquarePants.
The range consists of makeup and skincare offerings featuring the show’s main characters.

The new collaboration also reflects a growing trend of beauty products latching on the popularity of cartoon and anime as a marketing strategy.

“Over the years, wet n wild has seen great success with launching timely collaborations. In light of recent events, we saw the globally powerful and beloved SpongeBob character as the perfect mood-booster for a fun and inspired beauty collection,” wet n wild’s brand and product SVP Elaine Chen said in a press release.
“The SpongeBob x wet n wild partnership is sure to inspire 2000’s nostalgia among shoppers – a trend that is sweeping the cosmetics industry right now and connecting with millennial audiences on a deeper level.”

Elsewhere, the Spongebob Highlighter boasts a richly pigmented, pearl-infused consistency – perfect for adding a pop of shine to your overall makeup look.
There’s also SpongeBob’s bestie, Patrick, and his signature pink salmon shade that can be found in the palette as well.
We even see a bright red eyeshadow that we think is most definitely inspired by the fiery red Mr. Krabs.
Apart from the eyeshadow palette, the collection also features a highlighter as well as makeup sponges that resemble SpongeBob, Patrick, and Squidward.
