The long wait is over for pageant supporters as one of the most coveted Miss Earth 2023 officially unveils its grand coronation night on December 22, 2023 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention in Vietnam.
Carousel Productions and TNA Entertainment announced that the pre-pageant events will be held from November 28 to December 21, following the coronation night the following day.
The Philippines will send Yllana Marie Aduana to represent the Philippines.
A medical technologist from Siniloan, Laguna, Aduana was crowned Miss Fit Philippines 2021 and finished in the Top 10 on Miss Philippines Earth 2021.
Aduana also finished in the Top 12 and won Face of the Binibini in Binibining Pilipinas 2022.
In the 2023 edition of Miss Earth in Vietnam, Aduana is carrying the EARTH Education (Environmental Awareness and Action to Restore and Transcend Home) Advocacy.
With the tagline "Beauties for a Cause," Miss Earth promotes environmental awareness and promotion. It was launched in 2001.
"Apart from a strong emphasis on environmental protection programs, Miss Earth also aims to showcase and promote various tourist destinations. Every year, more than 80 delegates from all over the world compete on beauty and knowledge of environmental issues," Miss Earth wrote on their website.
In December, Miss Earth 2022, Mina Sue Choi from South Korea, will crown her successor.
Choi made history by being crowned Miss Earth, carrying her advocacy for the promotion of carbon footprint reduction.
Among the previous Filipina earth warriors are physicist, WWF PH Ambassador, and event host Karen Ibasco, who was crowned in 2017; back-to-back titles were held by Jame Herrell in 2014 and Angelia Ong in 2015. In 2008, host and model Karla Henry was crowned the First Filipina to hold the Miss Earth crown.
