Omega Esports, Smart Communications professional esports team, has replied that they “do not condone any form of cheating or game fixing”.

EVEN before the SEA Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Tour, Omega Esports (Team Smart Omega) was already in hot water after being found guilty of match-fixing.

In an announcement made on their official Twitter, the SEA DPC League banned the team from all Valve-sponsored events due to match-fixing, stripping them of their Division One slot.

“Team Smart Omega (Omega Esports) have been officially banned from all Valve-sponsored events due to their engagement in match-fixing activities,” the statement reads.

The League nor Valve did not specify when the investigation was conducted nor when the match-fixing happened.

DPC League named Prince Daculan and Ryniel Keit “Zenki” Calvez and even former players att Piolo “Piolz” Dela Cruz, Dave “Hiro” Miyata, and Van Jerico Manalaysay who currently plays for Execration. Omega coach Ian “CTY” Francis Maldo is also included in the list.

Boom Esports from the lower division will be taking their place in the upper division while BTS will organize a separate qualifier which will happen on Nov. 26 to fill the open slot in Division II.

Execration will be permitted to fill up Van’s spot with any eligible member from their roster.

Omega Esports has issued out a statement that they were not informed regarding the matter and will conduct their own investigation.

“We do not condone any form of cheating or game fixing in our organization,” they said. “We will look into this matter and reach out to all the parties involved.”

The Dota Pro Circuit Southeast Asia 2021-22 Tour 1: Division 1 will begin on December 1, Wednesday.
