While the theme park will feature many popular attractions found in Singapore, Osaka, Los Angeles and Orlando, China’s first Universal Studios will include some firsts and expanded areas.

THE fifth and largest Universal Studios theme park in the world is set to open in Beijing on September 20.

Trial operations kicked off yesterday for invited guests and resort partners.

Officially titled Universal Beijing Resort (UBR), the entertainment complex is made up of seven themed lands, 37 rides, two hotels, and the Universal CityWalk Beijing.

While the theme park will feature many popular attractions found in Singapore, Osaka, Los Angeles and Orlando, China’s first Universal Studios will include some firsts and expanded areas.

To enumerate, the seven immersive themed lands include the first Kung Fu Panda Land of Awesomeness, Asia’s second Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the largest Minion Land in the world, Transformers Metrobase, Hollywood, WaterWorld, and Jurassic World Isla Nublar.

For accommodations, the new theme park offers the first-ever Universal-themed resort hotel they’ve named The Universal Studios Grand Hotel and the NUO Resort Hotel heavily inspired by the grandeur of the Qing Dynasty’s Old Summer Palace.

Currently, the park is “pressure-testing” its facilities through the 19-day trial operations. The soft launch is invitation-only, UBR has warned the public of fraudulent ticket selling.

“Based on feedback and comments from invited guests, Universal Beijing Resort will look to adjust operational practices and service details in preparation for the upcoming grand opening," the press release reads.

UBR has also announced that they will start selling admission tickets and hotel rooms starting September 14. The One-Day Dated Ticket starts at 418 RMB and will require the guests’ real name so it cannot be transferred or resold.

The development of the park was announced in 2014 under a joint venture between Comcast Corp's Universal Parks & Resorts and state-owned Beijing Shouhuan Cultural Tourism Investment.
