Miss Grand International beauty queens Mariana Valera and Fabiola Valentin shocked the world with the news of their wedding after keeping a private relationship for the past two years
Fellow Miss Grand International 2020 candidates Mariana Varela of Argentina, and Fabiola Valentin of Puerto Rico surprised their fans with the announcement of their marriage on Friday, October 28.
The two have been keeping their relationship completely under wraps and shared to the public their relationship via an Instagram post showing moments of their relationship.
"After deciding to keep our relationship private, we opened our doors to you on a special day. 28/10/22," the models wrote in a shared post.
The video included clips such as trips to the beach, outings, the proposal, and the wedding which featured the two beauties dressed in white and hugging in front of a Puerto Rican government agency where they signed their marriage certificate.
In the video, Valentin and Varela also showed clips of their engagement where they can be seen slipping on their engagement rings to each other's finger with balloons in the background that spell out "Marry me?"
Aside from joining the Grand International pageant together, the couple rarely posted together but shared a photo in August with the caption, "A summer with you."
Their announcement post was flooded with congratulatory messages, by some from fellow contestants at the MGI pageant, including Miss Grand Philippines 2020/2021 Samantha Bernardo who wrote: “OMG! Congratulations sisters, love love love!”
The organization also showed support and took the time to send their congratulations to the newlyweds.
"Congratulations to both. MGIO always supports boundless love,” they wrote.
The couple apparently met during the Miss Grand International 2020 pageant held in Bangkok, Thailand, in March 2021, where they both reached the top 10 but Abena Appiah of the United States reigned the competition and was crowned as the grand winner.
Varela and Valentinhave kept their closeness which eventually turned into a romantic relationship in the last two years.
