Maureen Montagne is crowned the 2021 Miss Globe in Albania.
Another Filipina crowned as the fairest of them all!
Maureen Montagne was crowned the 2021 Miss Globe at the Opera Theater in Tirana,Albania on Friday (early morning of Saturday in Philippines). Adding to the domination of the Philippines in international pageants this year.
Miss Philippines bested over 40 candidates in the beauty pageant. Aside from the Miss Globe title, Montagne also placed first runner-up in three pre-pageant competitions: People's Choice, Miss Bikini, and Head to Head Challenge.
This marks the second crown of the country for Miss Globe after bagging the title in 2015 by Ann Colis. While her predecessor Leren Bautista was crowned as first runner up.
Esther Gabriel came as the first runner-up, Turkey's Melike Bali was second runner-up, Venezuela's Jhosskaren Carrizo Smiler was third runner-up, and Canada's Hailey Hamelin-Wilson was fourth runner-up.
Aside from the winners, the other ladies who made it to the semifinal round were Estonia (winner of the People's Choice Award, for topping the online poll), Brazil, Dominican Republic, Germany (who won as Miss Social Media), Greece (who won as Miss Talent), Kazakhstan, Romania, Malaysia (winner of the Head-to-Head Challenge), USA, and Guyana (who won as Miss Bikini).
Montagne was clearly a front-runner from the start of the competition. She dazzled in her swimsuit and she is most especially remembered by her pre-pageant National Costume. The Filipina ditched the usual Filipiniana attire and went for a Sampaguita-inspired gown.
Created by Filipino fashion designer Patrick Isorena, Montagne did a photoshoot with Isorena before leaving the country for the pageant.
"This is such an honor and I can't wait to celebrate with all of my [fellow] Filipinos. Thank you so much for all your love and support," The 28-year old said in an interview shortly after the competition.
"I hope to hit the ground running with my advocacies and feeding the hungry all around the globe," she added.
