Paterio, an OFW in Dubai, had a life-changing luck after winning P136 million lottery prize.

DURING uncertain times, sometimes luck has something big to offer that can literally change your life.

Just like in the form of AED 10 million prize.

Dubai-based OFW Paterio, saw his luck hit an all-time high when his name was picked for the Mahzooz weekly draw.

He won a total of AED 10 million or approximately P 136 million last November 9.

It was the numbers 4, 26, 36, 37, and 38 that Paterio exactly matched for the 50th weekly Mahzooz draw.

He was awarded as the 19th millionaire from a Mahzooz draw and the first top prize winner since introducing a new game design two weeks ago.

Paterio shared how he learned about the miraculous news on his way to work.

“It was 8am and I was out on my site for work when I got the call from the Mahzooz team who told me about the win. I couldn’t believe it initially and thought someone was pranking me but when the caller explained to me about the prize money, the reality hit me. I then checked my email and realized it was true,” said an excited Paterio.

The 52-year old has been working in Fujairah for three years in the oil and gas company to support his wife and two children in the Philippines.

He has not seen them since the coronavirus pandemic started.

“The money couldn’t have come at a better time," Paterio told The National, a news publication in UAE.
"My son suffers from cerebral palsy and he needs an operation that could really help him. With this money, we can try to improve his life. It’s life-changing for us."

Paterio’s 18-year-old son has suffered from cerebral palsy since childhood, requiring feeding tubes through the mouth and nose.

According to Paterio, the money he won would pay for surgery that could make gastrostomy tubes to feed his son directly through the stomach.

He also expressed how big this blessing is to him.

The 13-year veteran in the construction industry claimed that he would not have earned this money even if he worked for 100 years.

His sons who are 23 and 18 year old, together with his wife are his source of motivation in continuing to work for their future.
