Filipino fans are in for a great treat as Fil-Ams Jordan Clarkson of Utah and young sensation Jalen Green of Houston face off in an NBA game dubbed Filipino Heritage Night on October 28.

HAVING a Filipino athlete in one of the biggest sporting leagues in the world gives the country such an honor.

But having two Filipinos up against one another in the NBA is something that the whole country would not miss the chance to witness.

The Houston Rockets will be hosting their FIlipino Heritage Month when the Utah Jazz visit on October 28.

This blockbuster match up will host two Filipino-Americans with Jordan Clarkson from the Jazz and Jalen Green of the Rockets which marks the first ever NBA game to host two players of Filipino descent.

Jordan Clarkson, who has been involved and always supporting the Gilas Pilipinas team and even expressed his intentions in playing for the country in the future, is the reigning Sixth Man of the Year.

On the other hand, Jalen Green is the second overall pick of the Houston Rockets in the 2021 NBA Draft.

Coming out of his preseason debut, the younger Jalen Green is trying to focus on his game, how to get in the feel of things and getting in the flow.

He debuted with a 12 points, two assists and six rebounds performance in his first preseason game against the Washington Wizards.

Clarkson wrapped up his year with the Utah Jazz earning the Sixth Man of the Year award.

He averaged 18.4 points per game with the team that led the NBA in wins.

What is more exciting is that this is the first time Houston Rockets will host a Filipino Heritage event in their home court.

In the NBA, teams such as the Brooklyn Nets and the Golden State Warriors have been hosting Filipino Heritage games in honor of the Filipino community in their areas.

The Brooklyn Nets held their Filipino Heritage event in January 2020 in honor of the Filipino neighborhood in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut.

The Golden State Warriors additionally had its personal evening in January 2021 in honor not solely of the Filipino neighborhood within the Bay Space but in addition of former participant Raymond Townsend, the primary NBA athlete to have roots within the Philippines.
