Another cargo ship of the Evergreen Marine Corp. got stuck at the Chesapeake Bay, in Baltimore. Just last year Ever Given of the same company got stuck for a week in the Suez Canal.

A massive container cargo ship of Evergreen Marine Corp. run aground after the Suez Canal fiasco for nearly a week in 2021. The Ever Forward is stuck in Craighill Channel of the Chesapeake Bay.

The US Coast Guard has been working to free the vessel but will not cause traffic, officials said. In the meantime, passing ships have been told to reduce speed and use one-way traffic.

Thankfully, no one was injured nor did it cause any “pollution-related spills” Maryland officials said.

The ship departed from Baltimore on Sunday evening headed to Virginia supposedly on Thursday.

The Coast Guard told the New York Times that they are focusing on refloating the Ever Forward and will start investigating the cause afterward.

However, it wasn’t the only ship that ran aground in the last 24 hours. The large cruise ship Norwegian Escape was also stuck along the north coast of the Dominican Republic on Monday.

Aljazeera reports that it was grounded just after departing the Port of Taino Bay due to “strong 30 knot winds.”

Said to have 3,000 tourists and 1,600 crew on board, the cruise ship had to wait until high tide on Tuesday morning to be freed.

The Norwegian Escape is now docked back at Taino Bay being assessed for damage.
