At 828 meters above ground, Emirates claims to have created the highest advertisement ever filmed.
A week ago, airline company Emirates released an Instagram ad where one of their cabin crew stood on top of the tallest building in the world.
At 828 meters above ground, Emirates claims to have created the highest advertisement ever filmed.
Today (August 16), Emirates shared how they did it.
The short commercial titled “We’re on Top of the World” featured a lone Emirates crew member holding and flipping through placards that read, “Moving the UAE to the UK amber list has made us feel on top of the world. Fly Emirates. Fly better.”
The United Kingdom’s “amber list” meant that travel is allowed between the two countries, with additional requirements.
The shot then panned out to eventually show that she had been standing at the highest platform of the 828m Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building.
Naturally, there were skeptics online saying the video could have been special effects.
But the Emirates was ready to share behind-the-scenes footage only a day after.
To create the ‘highest ads ever filmed”, rigorous training and safety protocols were observed.
Additionally, professional UK skydiver Nicole Smith-Ludvik was hired to take the air stewardess role for the commercial for safety reasons.
She shares the honor of standing at the top of the world’s tallest building with Tom Cruise and the Crown Prince of Dubai, H.H. Shiekh Hamdan Mohammed Rashid Al Maktoum.
“We always look to challenge the norm and push boundaries at Emirates,” said President Emirates Airline Sir Tim Clark in a press release.
We’re proud to be among a privileged few who have been allowed to film at the top of the Burj Khalifa by Emaar, and even prouder that we get to showcase our beautiful city, Dubai.”
The official statement also shared that the commercial was filmed during the sun’s golden hour on sunrise and that the team was at the pinnacle for around 5 hours.
