Cristiano Ronaldo focuses on World Cup as he finally leaves Manchester United after a controversial TV interview despising the club.

Adding to the soccer frenzy for the week, Cristiano Ronaldo has officially left Manchester United effective immediately, said English Premier League club on November 22.

The development comes after a week from the explosive TV interview of their prized player about his frustrations at the club with the feeling of betrayal and having no respect for manager Erik ten Hag, CNN reported.

"The club thanked him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well for the future," Man U said in a statement.
"Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team's progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch."

Ronaldo initially joined the club in 2003 where he first tasted stardom after leading the team to three Premier League titles, the FA Cup, two League Cups, the Champions League, and the first of his five Ballon d'Or crowns, before leaving for Real Madrid in 2009.

According to BBC, the winger scored 145 goals in 346 appearances donning the Manchester United kit that really boosted his career as one of the best players in the world, which is why it was a no-brainer choice for Ronaldo to return to the Old Trafford Club in August 2021 after a brief stint with Juventus.

"Following conversations with Manchester United we have mutually agreed to end our contract early," confirmed Ronaldo in a statement, Fox News said.

"I love Manchester United and I love the fans, that will never ever change. However, it feels like the right time for me to seek a new challenge.

"I wish the team every success for the remainder of the season and for the future."

After the premier of his recent interviews, Ronaldo continued his preparations for the World Cup and is currently with the Portugal national team in Qatar and insisted that the Manchester United drama will not affect the concentration of his team entering their matches.
