Although actor Dennis Trillo was born, grew up and went to school in Quezon City, according to his biography, he has roots from the Visayan region.

Born to mom Florita Florencio Ho and Abelardo Leslie Ho, a Chinese Filipino, Dennis’ dad hailed from Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental.

That makes Trillo, Abelardo Dennis Florencio Ho in real life, a true blue Visayan.

Another Visayan—the other one being Tom Rodriguez from Catbalogan City in Samar who brought home Carla Abellana—has taken the heart of a Manileña, that is Dennis to Jennylyn Mercado.

Jennylyn and Dennis proclaimed their engagement moment on a simulcast of their YouTube Channel and their home studio GMA Network’s prime-time newscast “24 Oras”.

In an interview with entertainment broadcast journalist Nelson Canlas, Jen disclosed she’s “positive”—meaning on the family way.

At the time of the revelation, Mercado was nine weeks pregnant and happy about it. This means the duo is expecting their baby in June. Incidentally, in an interview, Jen and Den admitted they considered surrogacy, but it was good news they were endowed with a baby in a natural way, an achievement for the actors.

The engagement was a teary-eyed scene where Jen cried profusely, which enabled her fiancé to get a tissue paper somewhere perched in one corner of their house and to give it to her fiancée. It was tears of joy and excitement as they had finally settled the formality of their bond as future Mr. & Mrs. Abelardo Dennis Ho, the last three IDs the actor’s real full name.

Dumaguete City people must be proud of their fellow Negrense as he takes home a beautiful and simple lady who started out her showbiz career as a singer in beer houses in Malate many moons ago.

Jen and Den’s wedding is scheduled next year.
