Starting Friday (January 14), unvaccinated individuals in Tacloban City will be confined in their homes, refused entry in malls and other indoor areas in the city.
They can only go out if their purpose is to go to the astrodome to finally get the Covid-19 jab.
Tacloban Mayor Alfred Romualdez made the announcement today, saying he is issuing an executive order parallel to the announcement issued by Malacanang yesterday placing Tacloban under Alert Level 3 along with 27 other areas (provinces/localities) in the country.
According to the mayor, this is what he had been saying a month ago to the remaining unvaxxed constituents that they must get vaccinated because time will come that these establishments will refuse them their service all because they’re not vaccinated.
During this period (January 14-31), the city government will abide by the protocols and guidelines set under Alert Level 3, and will immediately issue the order to all public and private establishments in the city for their proper guidance.
Romualdez said the same guidelines will effectively be enforced to all public transport and utility vehicles plying in the city.
Meanwhile, no further rigid requirements will be asked from travellers and people coming into the city except for vaccination card.
“No RT-PCR tests results will be required, all they need is a proof that they are vaccinated,” Romualdez said.
