As Covid-19 cases continue to rise in Eastern Visayas, Pintados Foundation, Inc. president Eugene Tan announced that the Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival Parade, which is suppoed to be held this month, has been canceled again.

For the second time, Leytenos will have to let this year pass without celebrating one of the region's grandest annual festivals.

As Covid-19 cases continue to rise in Eastern Visayas, Pintados Foundation, Inc. president Eugene Tan announced that the Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival Parade, which is suppoed to be held this month, has been canceled again.

This would have been the 35th anniversary of the celebration of the famed festival, which showcases the tattooed inhabitants of Samar and Leyte called "Pintados."

Aside from the parade, other events that would entail mass gatherings have been canceled as the local government unit has ordered a ban on all public gatherings to control the further spread of Covid-19.

On the other hand, the annual Miss Teen and Miss Pintados pageants would still ensue via Facebook Live.

It would seem that what was once a colorful and extravagant celebration accompanied by friendly competition from various schools and municipalities would have to wait until the crisis brought by the pandemic completely pass. (JKA)
