Aside from Beauty Gonzales, Gyldel Mercado, Pamela Amor, Angel Aquino etc. there’s a new female star from Dumaguete City who is taking the whole filmdom’s by storm.
She’s no other than Jela Cuenca, a talent of the controversial star builder Jojo Veloso and a contract artist of Viva Artists Agency.
It was Jela’s leading lady in the daring film “Palitan”, a Viva Films production for Vivamax live streaming platform, who confirmed that she’s from Dumaguete City.
“Taga-Dumaguete City po si Jela. Ipinagmamalaki niya ang kanyang bayan. (Jela is from Dumaguete City. She’s proud of her town),” volunteered Rash Flores, Jela’s boyfriend and eventually husband in the film.
“Napakabait pong taga-Dumaguete ni Jela. Saksi po ako sa kabaitan niya (Jela is the kindest resident of Dumaguete. I am witness to her kindness),” added Rash.
I hope the late National Artist for Film Eddie Romero is proud of his kababayan, Jela Cuenca.
Jela plays Maria, a gay lover of Jen (played by Cara Gonzales) who is open to the renewal of gender role when she married her fiancé.
