What makes a beautiful love affair turn bitter and sour? Is it the sudden uncanny appearance of a character trait that has been put on the side for a considerable period of time?

What happened to the well-publicized romance between actress and model Ana Jalandoni — who is now resting in Baguio City — and actor and former Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) winner Kit Thompson.

What could the Jalandonis of the Visayan island say on this issue?

Let us put the angle of creed to this incident.

The Real Story

This is Kit and Ana’s story.

Recently, the couple went on a tryst in a Tagaytay City hotel to beat the summer heat. It turned out, it was a different kid of “beating.”

And then the next scene was that Ana was seen crying for help when she posted in her Facebook Messenger that she was beaten black and blue and swollen and detained by Kit.

On FB, Ana was surreptitiously sending messages asking to be rescued. She was worried Kit might wake up.

Rescuers Come

In no time at all, the Tagaytay Police gathered intelligence reports and located the whereabouts of Kit and Ana.

When authorities triangulated the couple's exact location, they immediately arrested Kit and booked him for questioning.

Ana was rushed to a hospital there for treatment.

Words Of Caution

In her message to the public, Ana posted: “When you love someone you will never ever harm them.”

Out of her introspection, she asked, “Minahal mo ba talaga (Did you ever love?)” without pointing at a particular subject which was obviously her.

Ana gave a general advice to people who have been in similar situation as hers or would be entangled in future sexual abuse. “This is me saying you all should be careful out there.”

Apparently, there were already many concerned colleagues and kith and kin who were sending her words of comfort.

“I can't reply to all of you right now but thank you for checking up on me,” Ana quipped and promised she would soon be making herself available publicly. “I will release a statement soon.”

Violence vs Women

In reports gathered, witnesses said there was a heated argument between Ana and Kit. Then, ensued violence.

Tagaytay Police filed a case on or the Violence Against Women and Children Act, embodied in the 2004 Republic Act 9262

Kit’s handler, the Cornerstone Management, issued the latest official statement on the issue.

“The Cornerstone Management does not condone any act of violence and profoundly values the dignity of women. We take this opportunity to clarify that our earlier statement was issued with no knowledge of any specific details as we were in receipt only of general allegations. Neither were we privy to any photos of the incident,
“In this delicate situation, we subscribe to the sound discretion of the law enforcement and allow the wheels of justice to take its course.”
