Is love lovelier the second time around for Cristina Gonzalez-Romualdez and Tacloban City Mayor Alfred Romualdez?
There was a time talks had climbed the grapevine that Cristina, also known as Kring Kring, broke up with Alfred because of the mayor’s dalliance with a Tacloban local beauty.
It was followed by the conspicuous absence of the actress and former mayor of the city in the Romualdez turf and she would choose to stay in Manila to manage the family’s events reception business. Although Gonzalez-Romualdez was quiet about the issue, actions spoke louder than voice.
It seems the spat is already patched up between the husband and wife last year when they were always seen together in public places and events like the commemoration of the Yolanda rampage in the Visayan region some eight years ago which was held by a holy mass.
Although separated by a few meters to maintain physical distancing (a health protocol), the sight was a romantic one between the couple for all their constituents to see.
Recently, Mayor Romualdez celebrated his qualification to Senior Citizenship and Kring Kring was the first one to greet him with unique birthday greetings.
Most trees in Tacloban City were hung with tarps with birthday greetings and photos of Alfred pasted on them.
How sweet of Cristina to do it.
Here’s Kring Kring’s messages to her hubby: “Happy Happy 60th B-day Dad! You have always been our leader, a good father and husband! not only to us but to the City of Tacloban! We really appreciate you for all that you are! You really deserve a bigger, grander celebration to honor you! But this pandemic happened! (Again) As you turn 60, my prayer for you is to live a long life full of health and happiness with God's blessings upon you! Love you.”
Gonzalez and Romualdez are a perfect pair not only in politics but in their personal relationship as well but there are bumps and challenges along the way of their union.
