Leyte Governor Leopoldo Dominico Petilla claimed that the tourism infrastructure projects worth P72 million in La Paz town now serve the residents and help boost the economic activities of the municipality.

LA PAZ, Leyte- THE infrastructure projects implemented in this town are now serving their purpose and are helping enhance the economic activities of the municipality and nearby areas amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a recent radio interview, Leyte Governor Leopoldo Dominico Petilla claimed that the tourism infrastructure projects worth P72 million in La Paz now serve the residents and help boost the economic activities of the municipality.

Petilla said that the project components are the concreted road, bridge and other related infrastructure tourism projects leading to Kalabato Hot Spring which is the tourist destination of La Paz.

The concrete road serves as the farm-to-market-road in the municipality, helping farmers deliver their goods to markets faster and at reduced costs.

"It will now provide better opportunities for residents of the town through easier transport of commodities and products to and from the market," the governor added.

The infrastructure projects were implemented and finished last year as a project convergence between the Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). (RC)
