The two suspects were arrested for violation of Presidential Decree No. 449 (Illegal Cockfighting) by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by the Municipal Trial Court of Palo, Leyte.
Two persons were arrested by police in Alangalang, Leyte for alleged involvement in illegal cockfighting operations in the town.
The two suspects were identified as Alvin Arandila Garrido, 55 years old, and Daniel Banado Reazon, 79 years old, both residents of Barangay San Isidro.
The two suspects were arrested for violation of Presidential Decree No. 449 (Illegal Cockfighting) by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Hon. Maria Cielo Velasquez Martinez of the Municipal Trial Court (MTC) of Palo, Leyte last July 31.
The two are now in custody of the Alangalang police, while bail has been set at P36,000 for their temporary liberty.
Meanwhile, a 14-year-old teenager has also been arrested in the town due to murder charges.
The unidentified minor, along with an 18-year-old accomplice, were arrested in Barangay Ekiran by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 7 in Tacloban City.
The suspects are currently detained at Alangalang municipal police station awaiting court orders regarding their detention, while bail has been set at P62,000.
