A team of doctors at the Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center (EVRMC) has successfully conducted a permanent dual pacemaker insertion procedure, with a 52-year-old female as the first patient to be tried.
The regional hospital's CathLab is equipped with state-of-the-art Biplane Cardiovascular Catheterization Machine, one of only two in the Philippines.
The lab is also equipped with the latest imaging and other needed equipment necessary to undertake advanced procedures to repair problems with the heart as well as other parts of the body.
The team that conducted the procedure is composed of Dr. Roque, Dr. Jae Estreller of Anethesia Department, Mr. Noel Daya, Mr. Mark Allen Ibañez, Mr. Justin Pino, Mr. Marc Christian Gabrino, and Mr. Edfil Rey Lacanaria, all trained of the necessary proficiencies from the Philippine Heart Center.
