THE "culture of violence" that has marked Calbayog City, Samar in past decades and continuing until the present has claimed another victim.

This, after an engineer who was also an employee of the Calbayog City LGU was shot dead Saturday night (June 19), local police said.

The victim was identified as Salvador Biliran, 59 years old.

According to police reports, Biliran was about to get inside his SUV after buying shrimps at the local market when he was shot by two unidentified assailants.

He was rushed to the nearest hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
