By this time, it is already a fact that multimedia actress Bibeth Orteza is a Waray from Catbalogan City in Samar.

It is also already known that she is a prolific writer—from column writing in journalism to scriptwriting in creative communication.

More than that, Bibeth is also a stay-at-home parent and a mom.

Let us focus on this Waray as an actress in a film.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic onslaught, Bibeth had finished a project from internationally renowned film director Brillante Ma. Mendoza.

It was a nice offer from Brillante who first thought of her to don the character of a mom of a political clan in the dirty side of the city. It was no mean mother role because it has multidimensional nuances of a parent caught in the web of grim and brutality in a family at grip with power to oppress small people.

Orteza immediately grabbed the opportunity because it was a once-in-a- in a lifetime offer she couldn’t afford to miss.

Bibeth eventually proceeded to the set where it was an atmosphere of professionalism and candor.

It was a smooth-sailing acting gig for a pro with her co-stars Jay Manalo and Albie Casino.

And look where “Resbak” is now.

It is scheduled to compete at the 2021 Tokyo International Film Festival and who knows Bibeth might win an acting plum since the movie is in the competition derby.

Warays must be rooting for Orteza.
