Facebook is always interesting if not annoying.

Interesting as it give us lines to laugh at our miseries like this street musician singing a song about the barangay captains chopping the "ayuda" given by the government in this pandemic.

One line in his song said, "si kapitan ang ayuda kinarate kaya sumbong niya kay Duterte".

The song is a testament of the people's awareness of massive corruption in the government but hopeful that President Duterte will give them justice.

Everybody is praying President Digong wins this one, at least, tame corruption and contain greed.

This reminds us of a story of a jeepney driver testifying in court on behalf of a friend.

Under cross by the prosecution, he was asked, "Is it true you were offered ₱10,000 to throw this case?"

The driver ignored the lawyer, disinterested in the question.

The lawyer, annoyed, asked the same question again. This time raising his voice.

The judge noticing the behavior of the driver blurted, warning the driver, "You will answer the question."

The driver answered, "Sorry, your honor, I thought he was talking to you."

And talking of lawyers, a friend complained. He went into a law office to get some sanity on tax issues.

After 30 minutes of waiting, he was led in by the secretary to the lawyer's inner office.

Made to sit down, he asked, for starters, how much would cost him to get answers to 3 questions.

The lawyer answered ₱2,500.

"OMG," my friend exclaimed, "That's a big sum, is it not?"

The lawyer answered, "yes it is", and continued, "What's your third question?"

Now in the Philippines, the vaccines are coming in pretty slow. We're still talking while other countries are now injecting.

This makes me better understand why we are pushing our country as a retirement haven.

One line in the promo said, it's slow and easy life.

Indeed slow is an understatement. Very slow in fact is the better description, more so in economic recovery. Many of us are slowly dying from poverty. No work, now food on the table. No food, we die.

This reminds me of a story by a dentist friend. He had a patient who asked how much it cost for tooth extraction.

Told that it would cost ₱1,000, the patient complained "that much for a few moments work?"

My friend tells the patient, "I can give you better value for your money. I can extract it very slowly."
