The image of Tatay Digong now reduced to skin and bones, is a dagger to the hearts of millions who loved and respected him. VP Sara’s revelation is more than a medical update; it is a cry of anguish from a daughter watching her father wither away, betrayed by the very man he helped raise to power.

Rodrigo Duterte gave BBM more than an endorsement. He gave him legitimacy. He opened the doors of Malacañang for the son of a dictator, even at the cost of public outrage, by allowing the burial of Marcos Sr. in the Libingan ng mga Bayani. It was a gesture of generosity, a bold political risk born out of unity. But in return, what did Duterte receive? Ingratitude. Persecution. Abandonment.

The narrative pushed by BBM’s loyalists—that Duterte evaded justice—fails to recognize his unwavering trust in the Philippine legal system. History proves our courts can hold presidents accountable -- it jailed two presidents, senators, and political warlords. Duterte asked only for fairness, not immunity.

Now, as his health fades, so too does the illusion of Marcosian loyalty. Filipinos see the truth: that Tatay Digong’s blood—his dignity, legacy, and pain—is on BBM’s hands. And history will not forget.
