German Field Marshal Erwin Rommel said, "Be an example to your men in your duty and private life. Never spare yourself and let your troops see that you don't in your endurance of fatigue and privation. Always be tactful and well-mannered. Avoid excessive sharpness or harsh voice, which usually indicates the man with shortcomings to hide."

The first thing that frequently comes to our mind when we see an armed man from a distance is how brave he or she must be wearing that uniform with our flag.

The function of their duty goes beyond simple enhancement. They are essential to developing a robust military posture in the complicated geopolitical environment of today. It consists of prepared, trained individuals who can be used to support active-duty forces as necessary.

The primary function of a reservist is to offer extra capacity in times of crisis, such as calamities caused by nature, armed conflicts, and other unplanned events. Additionally, reserve forces provide a distinct set of abilities and experiences.

Numerous reservists are civilian professionals in various industries, including engineering, medicine, and computer technology. This broad skill set is highly beneficial when addressing complex and dynamic threats like cyberattacks or humanitarian crises.

Reservists should participate in frequent and realistic training exercises to ensure that they are equipped to handle the demands of contemporary combat and other situations. Second, it is crucial to incorporate reserve forces into overall military planning. They should be seen as a crucial component of the country's military strategy rather than an afterthought.

As a Battalion Commander of the 606th Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion based in Guimaras Province, I am responsible for mobilizing my reservists in any eventualities, disasters, emergencies, and even wartime. I was Commissioned as an Officer of the Armed Forces of the Philippines through the Authority: Letter from the Office of the President dated 03 October 2020 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. From the moment I was commissioned, I already embraced all the responsibilities as an Officer of the Reserve Force.

As part of the Philippine Army, I am here to abide by this motto: “Defend the People, Securing the Land.” My snappy salute to all the men and women comprising all the Branch of Service of AFP, whether Philippine Airforce, Philippine Army, or Philippine Navy. Mabuhay tayong lahat!
