Days before the story appeared here in OpinYon Laguna entertainment pages about San Pedro City journalist Gaudencio Ordoña, Jr., better known as Sonny Ordoña, who complained against Altaire Endencia, also known as Tei Endencia, about his alleged violation of the Batas Pambansa No. 22 or the Anti-Bouncing Check Law, we texted the latter on his Facebook Messenger if we could interview him about the case.
It was only last Thursday, September 4, 2025 that Tei reached on us.
Endencia made a missed call on us but we only found it out later in the day so we returned his call.
We asked him what his side to the story was and he said that “there is already a mediation” about the case.
But according to Ordoña, he has just been hearing that Endencia would settle with him but to no avail. “Tei’s lawyers were telling my lawyer that they were expecting their client to talk to me to settle. That’s what they were told. Never happened,” he noted.
The case stemmed when Ordona, according to a document obtained by OpinYon Laguna Ordona expected a return of his investment from the company and was issued a check by Endencia to the tune of one million five hundred thousand pesos (P1,500,000.00).
According to Ordoña, he posted the check at the BDO Branch in Robinsons Galleria South in San Pedro City, Laguna.
But when he drew the amount, he learned that the bank account of Endencia was closed.
According to the information filed by the People of the Philippines against the accused, Endencia was informed about his closed account but still failed and refused to pay Ordona, hence the legal action.
Endencia was accused of violating Batas Pambansa No. 22.
