It's official.
Filipina international singer-actress Lea Salonga has separated from her husband, young businessman Robert Chien but her fans still adore her.
Meanwhile, adulation isn't only meant for living idols.
In life and in death, appreciation for an idol has the same depth and breadth.
Remember the fans of John Lennon of the fabled Beatles.
When Lennon died, they continued and still continue to adore him by saying prayers, lighting candles and bringing flowers at the very spot in New York where he was murdered and unto his grave.
Elvis Presley fans are still undying of their ardent admiration to the King of Rock and Roll.
Hero-worship has also its share of carry-over to other admirers.
They flock where fellow adherents rush in.
Like what avid Noranians have swayed and persuaded fellow supporters of other favorites to show and shower affection to their idol.
The late Superstar Nora Aunor, National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts, had a global appeal and a phenomenal stay in the local and international stage so that foreigners have extended their admiration to her and her art.
That's why when Nora died last year, many of her fans locally and internationally mourned and yet exalted her.
Her fans never miss to revere her memory in so many ways.
As a matter of fact, Nora fans from all over the world keep coming and paying her grave a visit at the Libingan ng mga Bayani (LNMB).
From the US to Australia to Europe to Asia to the Philippines, Noranians are still agog in remembering the sweetness and kindness of Guy.
And they have spread reverence to all and sundry.
Even Japanese male fans have trooped to the LNMB to pay their respects to the Superstar.
It was Noranian Fernando Madriaga who led the Japanese Noranians to their idol's resting place.
According to Fernando, he used to work in Japan so he could speak Nipponggo, learn the culture of the citizens from the House of the Rising Sun, share experiences of Asian tradition and gather his foreign guests to pay homage to the late Superstar.
Noranians during the visit of the Japanese fans were surprised to see a crowd of still adoring Nora followers however non-Filipinos.
That is the magic of Nora's unfading star despite her absence and exit to eternity that multiracial fans like these Japs are paying tribute to.
