A few more days to go and it's New Year once more.
What is in store for the world of Laguna Province in 2026?
We sought out our Cabuyao, Laguna resident psychic Madam Suzette Arandela to tell us what she feels and sees about the whole region in the Year of the Horse.
According to Madam Suzette, generally, the Province of Laguna will be peaceful with some occurrences of minor social unrest such as domestic problems among married couples and some issues on peace and order. “Pero patutunayan ng ating probinsiya na maganda at mapayapa ang ating buhay dahil masayahin ang mga Lagunense. Nagtutulungan din sila para malutas ang mga problema sa kapaligiran (Our province will prove once again that our lives are beautiful and peaceful because we are a happy people),” said Madam Suzette in an interview.
Arandela said that because the overall condition of the country will be better off next year, Laguna Province will also experience the progress of the national government. “Tataas ang kalidad ng buhay sa atin dito sa Laguna. Magma-manifest ang pag-unlad sa mga pamilya ng mga taga-Laguna. Mabibigyan ng magandang kinabukasan ang bawat isa sa atin kaya maganda ang nakikita kong mangyayari sa (The quality of life here in Laguna ill improve. Growth and development will manifest in the progress of many families in the province. Each one of us will be given good future that is why I am seeing a prosperous) 2026.
The seer sees a promise of ideal employment in the region with many companies holding offices and factories.
Calamities, natural and man-made, won’t spare Laguna. “But there are a lot of calamities to burden many Lagunenses,” exclaimed the controversial psychic.
“May mga kalamidad na mararanasan sa ating lalawigan. May mga sunog at pagbaha muli sa kalakhang (Laguna will experience calamities of all sorts. There will be fires and floods in the larger part of) Laguna but will be immediately solved,” said Madam Suzette.
Out of the fifteen typhoons that will hit the country, Arandela said, at least, eight will affect Laguna.
“Magdudulot ng pagbaha ang mga bagyong ito kaya mag-ingat sa pang-araw-araw na gawain (These typhoons will unleash floods so we must take care and think of precautionary measures in out daily chores),” she announced.
Even if the economy in the Year of the Horse improves, many Lagunenses who are overseas workers will still work abroad. “Patuloy na magkakaroon ng exodus ng mga Pilipino para magtrabaho sa ibang bansa. Ang mga Overseas Filipino Workers ay may pagtulong pa rin at suporta sa Pangulo, meron lang mga ilang grupo ang may pag-aalinlangan sa (The exodus of Filipinos working abroad will still be in sight. While there are OFWs who support and help the President, there are still those who doubt the sincerity of the) government,” quipped Arandela.
Meanwhile, in local politics, Madam Suzette said that there are community leaders, especially the mayors of different towns of Laguna who are being intently watched by the people and the national government especially when ER Ejercito, Emilio Ramon Ejercito in real life, was unceremoniously removed from office.
“Matindin pa rin ang magiging labanan sa local politics especially mayoralty lalo na sa eleksyon sa mga susunod na taon. ‘Yong ibang nakaupo ngayon ay maaaring kumandidato sa national elections (The fight among politicians in the local level will be fierce especially in the elections in the coming years. Some of the incumbent leaders will run for national elections),” predicted Arandela.
In the entertainment and communication world, the Lagunenses are still patrons of GMA Network.
Channel 7 shows will continue to be watched by her kababayans, according to her.
“Patuloy pa rin ang pag angat ng GMA lalo na sa ‘Family Feud,’ ‘Sangre,’ ‘24 Oras,’ ‘Umang Hirit,” at (GMA will soar more especially contributed by Lagunenses who will continue to patronize its shows and news programs) Korean telenovelas, added Madam Suzette.
