Most of us get our formal education from the classroom. Outside the classroom though, there are also learnings that are significant for each individual.
At my age, I have gathered some very important lessons that I can share to others. May you gain something from it.
Get to know yourself. What makes you happy, sad, or angry? How do you react to particular situations? What work do you enjoy doing? What are your strengths and weaknesses? What are you passionate about?
Dream. Don’t even think of the barriers, just dream. Tell yourself what you will be five years from now, and then ten, and so on. Then ask yourself how you can achieve that dream in a realistic manner. You will see the dream transform into an achievable goal.
Plan and work it out. Focus on the achievement of that target. If you give up, you will never reach the top. Take the trials as they come, but have the wisdom to recognize that some barriers are trivial and better snubbed.
Believe and hold on. Keep the faith and you’ll get there.
Communicate. Talk to the people who can help you through. Don’t be afraid, don’t be ashamed. Never take it all alone. Communicate whatever it is that needs to be discussed with others so that you won’t lose track of your goal.
Be strong, be smart. Find a way to rise after each frustration. When circumstances don’t work on your favor, deal with it. Have a good heart and you will see things more clearly. You can be bruised and still stay happy. Love your life, for if you don’t, who will?
Be your own unique self. It’s okay to be not like most people as long as you are true to yourself. Follow your heart. It’s your life! Your choices must prevail. It’s your decision that counts.
Enjoy silence, welcome destiny. You will never hear the voice within when you are always talking or you’re always amidst a noisy crowd. Master the art of reading the signals and let destiny present itself to you. All roads will lead you there. You’ll be surprised to realize the miracles.
Discover the purpose of your creation. Find out what you were born to be. Learn to be at peace with yourself and you will find contentment that you have never imagined.
Work, rest, play. You have to live in a balanced environment. Netizens are lucky in a sense that with the internet, the world is just a click away. A lot of opportunities abound. Use technology, but don’t fail to smell the flowers and watch butterflies. Take time to look around, walk around, and smile.
- Succeed and be humble. Even if you’re on top, feel the ground.
- Help others. Only by helping those who are in need will you be fulfilled.
