A friend in need is a friend indeed.
This is very true to actress Carmina Villaroel, whose roots are in Sta. Cruz, and Legazpi City pride Dina Bonnevie.
In times of turmoil and uncertainties, real friends are always around to reach out and console each other.
Dina's husband, Deogracias Victor "DV" Savellano, former governor, vice-governor and congressman of the 1st District of Ilocos Sur and Undersecretary for Livestock of the Department of Agriculture, died of abdominal aneurysm on January 7, 2025.
Bonnevie was totally emotionally devastated when DV left her untimely.
It was like heaven and earth collided in the actress' life, a very rare and sad fate she suffered.
It was Carmina who initially went to the funeral wake of Savellano and comforted Dina.
The two fine actresses of Philippine cinema were hysterical at the Aeternitas Chapels and Columbarium along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City.
Dina hugged Carmina tightly and they really cried a river.
"I am so sorry for your loss," expressed Carmina when she saw and embraced one of her best friends.
It was as if the end of the world for Dina who profusely thanked Mina for her presence during her bereavement.
The other stars who paid their last respects to DV and shared grief with the Savellanos were Azenith Briones, Ma-Anne Casanova, Rey Bustria Martin, among others.
The remains of DV were brought to Cabugao, Ilocos Sur and was placed in his final resting place in the bucolic province.
Meanwhile, Bonnevie is healing her broken heart.
