Actor Patrick de la Rosa was hale and bouncy as shown in his digital posts in his Facebook, so that it was shocking news to be told that he just died.
He was always up-to-date to announce where he was in various parts of the world.
The last time he posted his whereabouts was in Italy.
Globetrotter Patrick, indeed.
Until his wife devastatingly announced that he was gone too soon.
Arnie Bella de la Rosa, a native of Cabuyao, Laguna, said that her husband died at 64 last October 26, 5:25 p.m. (Pacific Time Zone) at the Adventist Bakersfield Hospital in California.
"He will be remembered for his unwavering love, strength, and compassion. His memory will forever remain in our hearts.
"We ask for your prayers and understanding as our family grieves this great loss," said Arnie Bella.
Patrick and Arnie Bella were in the US for years, especially the former who relocated abroad some 20 years ago and whose last video appearance was with ABS-CBN news anchor Alvin Elchico in Portugal.
The vlog was facilitated by Alvin for Awel Paz of DZMM but it was aired entirely with Alvin as the interviewer.
In the interview, De la Rosa said he was “content” in his life in America.
Based on a photo posted in Arnie Bella's Facebook, she and Patrick got married in 2023, obviously in the US.
In her social media spaces, there is information that Mrs. de la Rosa is a graduate of Communication Arts from the University of the Philippines in Los Baños, Laguna.
Meanwhile, Patrick was studying in San Sebastian College in Manila when he was discovered as a commercial model for Close Up toothpaste.
After his ad exposure, he was summoned by the late Lily Y. Monteverde, better known as Mother Lily in her Regal Films office in Greenhills to be launched in the movie "Shame" with the late sexy actress Claudia Zobel directed by El Maestro Elwood Perez.
After his maiden film, de la Rosa starred in many projects from drama to action like "Uhaw sa Pag-ibig," "Mga Babae sa Isla Azul," "Ibabaon Kita sa Lupa," "Kristo," and "Bagansya," among others.
Patrick was also a former board member of the province of Oriental Mindoro before he migrated to the US.
