That's human nature.

People always tend to look up to the "highest pointer" in a basketball game, the country with the most medal haul in international sports competitions, for the highest or top notcher in the bar or board exams, and so on.

That's human nature. High up there is good.

Never did we realize life would tease and teach us to appreciate things the other way around.

That time has come.

Now, being negative isthe most sought-after word to hear or get from a medical result rather than a "positive" one (for a Covid test).

Similarly, being low in scoring, being far away from the lead pack, and so on, are now the "in" thing.

That is how Covid-19 taught us. To be humble at all times, I suppose.

Similarly, towns or LGUs with a very low scorecard are the most appreciated, the "lucky" ones.

And this is the reason why this corner would like to bringup andrecognize LGUs with the least number of Covid-19 cases in the province.

Actually, their names do not appear in the daily roster of Covid cases because during those times they have zero cases.

Batangas has 35 LGUs including four cities that are high up in the leaderboard of Covid-19 cases led by Lipa City.

Batangas City is next followed by Sto. Tomas and Tanauan cities.

On April 9, 2021, the towns of Agoncillo, Bauan, Mabini, San Jose, San Nicolas, Sta. Teresita, Tingloy, and Tuy did not appear on the provincial health office's report.

The reason?

Simple. Unlike the four cities and other LGUs, they have zero cases of Covid-19 that day. Nothing to report for them. Not to bother.

Over a weeklong stretch, from April 3 to April 9, the best LGU to live in now having the least number of Covid cases, from the bottom up are Tingloy and Sta. Teresita with 3 cases apiece; Laurel and Agoncillo with 4 each; San Nicolas, 5; Tuy, with 8 cases; and Balete, with 10 cases.

The rest already have 11 cases or more.

So now, having the least in life could already be the "in" thing.

Mind you, they are also the ones now who are allowed to fall in line for ayudas.
