SPEED. Not the likes of ice or base meth uppers aka shabu.
The Philippines needed to up its WIFI speed game to become a digital nomads’ haven. Are we ready? You can keep your eyes rolling for now!
Let’s embrace the new normal and switch to survival mode, pandemic or not.
Does the Philippines have what it takes to be a digital nomadic haven, when ordinary households still languish to get above our current mediocre WIFI connections?
Gamers can identify with this, on a crucial point you DIE coz of poor Internet connection!
Hybrid worker, especially ZOOMERS can also relate to this, when you’re about to seal the deal and the video meeting just went kaput!
Wanna go berserk or amok, do hara-kiri or get hanged under the tomato tree under these failed moments?
Who to call now, Ghostbuster or Scooby Doo? To date the likely options are PLDT, Smart, Globe, DITO, Bayan Tel – what else is on the negotiating table?
Previous buzz was that the government were into talks to string along Space X boss Elon Musk’s Starlink connection, but it fizzled in no time as well?
Recently, PBBM has been looking at a $30M deal to engage a Singapore-based Telco Kacific Broadband Satellites Group for better nationwide WIFI connect, but it’s yet to materialize in 2027? How far from the moon is that? We need the WIFI fix here and now!
It should have happened Century Eggs ago.
Can we multi-task beefing–up both our concrete and digital infras at the same time?
We can’t be sautéed every now and then with the ongoing onion, rice, fish hitches of the government. No, we wouldn’t be beautifully caramelized but we’d end up burned, bitter and wasted. What a life!
How can we embrace the new normal when chaos is littered all over the place?
We have successfully boosted vertical assets via high end property developers like Ayala Land, Megaworld, SM Prime Holdings, Filinvest Land, Federal Land, DMCI Homes, Robinson’s Land Corp., Rockwell Land, Vista Land & Lifescapes, and Shang Properties, to name a few, but we still suffer from infra progress with the constant traffic bottlenecks, thigh-high flooding, lack of connectivity and inaccessibility.
Worse, our Internet speed is being impeded, or so they say, by these very vertical assets that keep mushrooming all over. Not bad right? But it only shows the Philippines is still a work in progress.
As we previously mentioned, please; let’s tie up the loose ends – infra make-over, link accessibility, fuse connectivity – connect the dots, apply finishing touches. Lest we languish at the bottom of the food chain and perish as dust like we never existed.
Calling the country’s Ghostbusters and Scooby Doos. Please stand up, and may we hear from them!
Very looking forward to that day when we can say, “Carpe Diem”, then seize the moment!
