The participants and contestants in the recently concluded 2025 Palawan International Choral Festival (PICF) held at different venues in Puerto Princesa City in Palawan were equally distributed among regions and provinces in the country.

And our own region, the geopolitical CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) was proudly represented not only in the competition among choirs but also in the pompous opening of the event at the PGP (Provincial Government of Palawan) Convention Hall last week.

The CALABARZON contingent was composed of folk dancers, mostly male and female high school students.

They were enthusiastic and verve in crowd or street dancing which was transported right to the hall of the provincial capitol.

Oh! These CALABARZON kids were embodiment of the dynamic and active youthfulness of the artists in transitioning to adolescence.

Aside from the terpsichorean talents of CALABARZON residents, both young and old, the region was also represented in the choral competition held at the Provincial Government of Palawan (PGP) Convention Hall in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

The CALABARZON choral group did a splendid performance of synchronized singing that impressed the jury that included global choral singing experts like Korean Maestro Jae Joon Lee, an Orchestra Conductor as Chairman of the Board of Judges with highly esteemed conductors Dr. Joel Navarro, Dr. Ed Manguiat, Dr. Beverly Cheng, among other jurors.

As of this writing, we are waiting for the results of the contest.
