Nothing but the best service for commuters of the future Metro Rail Transit Line 7 (MRT-7)!
That was the pledge of San Miguel Corporation (SMC) President and CEO Ramon Ang as he sends off young engineers to South Korea to learn the best practices in running and maintaining the future MRT-7 system.
Ang personally led the send-off ceremonies for the 40 engineers selected under the MRT-7 Cadetship Training Program in South Korea, where they will train under South Korean railway operator KORAIL. KORAIL is also SMC's technical partner in the construction and operation of the MRT-7.
"This reflects our commitment to empower younger generations to excel in their field, and at the same time help [the] government build the modern transportation system that Filipinos deserve," SMC said in a press release last Saturday, July 29.
The 22-8 kilometer MRT-7 will run from San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan to the North Triangle Common Station along North Avenue in Quezon City, connecting with Metro Manila's main railway and public transport systems. The line is expected to become fully operational by 2025.
