Quezon Governor Angelina "Doktora Helen" Tan is spearheading the province's National Women's Month Celebration.

Gov. Tan's initiatives underscore the core principle behind this event by targeting Quezon's public spaces to make them safer and fostering moral values.

The awareness campaigns surrounding the Safe Spaces Act, coupled with the "Tiangge ni Juana" bazaar, which showcased women entrepreneurs and received backing from the local LGBTQ community, constitute a multifaceted strategy.

This approach simultaneously recognizes women's achievements and protects their rights.

These efforts are commendable, indicating real progress in a province that prioritizes and supports every woman.

Conversely, the tragic report of a 9-year-old girl purportedly raped by a 13-year-old neighbor highlights the imperative to translate celebration into tangible measures. To prevent these heinous acts, we need more than just raising awareness; we need a strong partnership. The proposed collaboration should include government agencies, educational institutions, and families.

This partnership requires several important steps.

First, it requires comprehensive sexuality education. Second, it calls for readily available support services for those who have been victimized.

Therefore, it's crucial to create early intervention programs to help at-risk youth.

The governor's worries about the potential economic consequences of the Middle East conflict underscore a stark reality: women often suffer the most.

Women often find themselves shouldering the weight of rising costs and job security.

While the Tiangge ni Juanas's aim of generating income is a positive move, these initiatives need to be integrated into the province's long-term growth plan.

Only then can we ensure that women have the resources they need to thrive and actively participate in the province's progress.

Women’s Month isn't confined to a single spot; it's about sparking transformation throughout the province, reaching from Lucena to places like Infanta, Gumaca, and Catanauan. With collaboration and steadfast resolve, we can bring Governor Tan's vision to life: a Quezon Province where women are honored and cherished.
