Marking the International Women's Day , the Amihan National Federation of Peasant Women, Tanggol Magsasaka and Free Our Sisters -Southern Tagalog hold a protest against the militarization of the countryside, rampant abuses and rights violations against rural and peasant women perpetrated by government forces.
They picketed infront of the Department of National Defense, in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City. The groups said that the activity was part of #Defend Peasant Women campaign to demand justice for extra-judicial killings and for the release of 94 peasant women political prisoners (including 76 under Duterte and 2 under Marcos Jr) and dismissal of trumped -up cases filed against them.
