A woman picks tawa tawa leaves along East Avenue in Quezon City. This indigenous herb is a popular folkloric cure for dengue and is being sold online for P50 per 80 to 100 leaves.

The Department of Health said the dengue cases in the country have reached 64,797 from January 1 to June 25, or a 90 percent increase against last year. And with the rainy season still here, dengue is expected to continue rising.
