The money supposedly meant to support a down-and-out is left uncollected.

The money is reportedly from Coco Martin.

The supposed receiver is a character actor, son of the late Rod Navarro who carries his dead dad's namesake, Rod Navarro, Jr.

The story runs this way.

Rod had returned to showbiz during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic after working in a hotel for years.

He was cast in the teleserye "Batang Quiapo," an ABS-CBN action caper but his participation was cut off when his role terminated in the narrative.

According to Navarro, he was the usual antagonist in the story.

"Marami akong naranasan na hindi magandang pagtrato sa akin sa (I experienced a lot of maltreatment from that) show na 'yon," said Rod in his video confession.

Then it was indeed a matter of life and death when he needed money badly.

Junior is a single parent who is raising his children in whatever way possible.

One day, Rod thought of going to the set of Coco's TV show.

It was raining, he recalled, when he approached Martin.

His intention was to seek support in more ways than one again.

Obviously, Navarro, Jr. couldn't be renewed again as a cast member of the series.

Rod was able to talk to Coco who said that he would communicate as soon as possible.

It was after one month that Junior received a call from Coco's camp telling him to see the director (which unfortunately or surprisingly didn't mention the name of Coco in his video confession).

Rod, in his entire narrative never mentioned Coco's name but obviously he was alluding to him by just saying "Direk."

Until the closed-door meeting came and Coco, in his own words, said, he couldn't give him an acting role in the production but another job involving the taping.

"I told him he will be a marshal to secure the set. Kasi, ang mga character actors na walang trabaho, ginagawa naming marshal para makatulong kami sa kanila (It is because the jobless character actors we make them marshals," said Coco.

"Then I told him that because of the poor condition of our country, I can give him capital for selling banana cue. His kids can sell them," explained Martin.

Navarro said he didn't take the money without telling Coco the reason why.

Until Rod in his video confession said that he didn't take the money even if Coco's staff reminded him of the uncollected money.

"Hindi ko talaga tinanggap dahil ang sabi ni Direk, mag-marshal daw ako pero pag may narinig siya tungkol sa akin na nagyabang ako o madaldal ako, tanggal ako (I didn't accept the money because Direk said if he hears about me bring braggart or talkative, he will immediately fire me).

"Tapos, sa pagtitinda ng banana cue, kailangan daw na lumago ng negosyo dahil pag hindi, hindi na niya ako bibigyan ng pera (Then, in selling banana cue, he said that it should be making money, if not, he won't give me money anymore)," said Rod.

According to him, he was pushed to the wall and it's a matter of principle.

Rod, in all humility, should admit that his ego was hurt.

Coco might just be challenging him, brutally frank, considering the many who seek help from him.
