In the middle of a political turmoil where he is also tagged in a kickback scandal, Senator of the Republic of the Philippines and one of Philippine cinema and TV actors Jinggoy Estrada is being dragged in a gay mess.
It all started when actor Robby Tarroza posted on his Facebook wall a shocking revelation about Jinggoy.
"Jinggoy mag resign ka na (resign) kundi (otherwise) i will be forced to tell the country about your double life!!! You are one of the reasons bat kami naghiwalay (why we parted ways). i have ALL the receipts dear. Try me! pareho lang kayo ng EX ko (you and my EX are the same…, BABOY (PIG!)," shouted out Robby, a former contract artist of Seiko Films.
Although the accusations were vague, it nonetheless elicited public furor in social media that some traditional info outlets lifted their stories from.
The tirades in Robby's initial washing of dirty linen in public were unclear in some areas like what does Tarroza mean by "double life"?
The gender from the word "EX" is not definite.
The "BABOY" allusion and attribution is not at all descriptively clear although its personification is debasing.
The statements are personal, though, and could merit court cases, one of them cyberlibel although Robby said he has pieces of evidence to back him up.
All these need scrutiny, after all.
In his succeeding original posts which are already deleted, Tarroza becomes more direct and determined by saying that Jinggoy is gay.
At this point, due to his public appearances, Tarroza said, he has been receiving death threats.
When Jinggoy is attacked, his friend and ally Cristy Fermin comes to his rescue.
This time, Cristy said that all accusations by Robby against Estrada are all false.
“Kilalang-kilala ko ang mga Estrada. Walang katotohanan ang mga akusasyon (I know the Estradas too well. The accusations are baseless,” said Cristy.
“Ang baboy ay ang pambababoy ni Robby sa organisasyon ng LGBTQIA+. Binaboy niya ang samahan (What is demeaning is that he defamed the organization. He debased the association),” explained Fermin.
The controversial TV host and vlogger argued that the accuser is not credible enough to pronounce those acerbic bad press.
“Sino ang maniniwala sa kanya (Who will believe him?),” she asked.
Cristy has remained defensive of the actor-politician.
If there will be any, the public is waiting for the legal battle between Robby and Jinggoy.
