Cine Suerte, Inc., one of the major film outfits established in the early 80s, is looking for actors to portray the role of the late Archbishop of Cebu, Rev. Fr. Teofilo Camomot, who has been proclaimed by Pope Francis in 2022 as a "venerable."

"Venerable" is a title given to a deceased person who has shown sanctity during one's lifetime but yet to be canonized or beatified by Vatican City.

Archbishop Camomot, a native of Carcar, Cebu, served in various positions inside the Roman Catholic Church in Visayas and Mindanao before returning to Cebu in 1970, where he died in an automobile accident in 1988.

According to producer Ben Yalung, Archbishop Camomot's life is very mystical and has the makings of a colorful religious person to sainthood.

"We are preparing the pre-production of the movie from the script of Celso de Guzman. We have already researched very well on Archbishop Camomot. We will start to roll out before the year ends. We only have to search for the titular role," said Yalung, who is also slated to direct the biopic.

There are suggestions from showbiz denizens who could possibly tsckle the role like Piolo Pascual, Paulo Avelino, Cedric Juan or even Coco Martin.

"But we will finalize everything the soonest possible time," quipped Ben.
