Happy days are here again for beauty contest enthusiasts which the Philippines has plenty of.
One of the anticipated pageants of the year is the 2025 Miss Universe-Philippines.
Brace yourself, Lagunense because the leading aspirants in the search are mostly from this province.
That means that Lagunense women are extraordinarily beautiful and world-class in pulchritude.
How many beauty queens have the province?
Binibining Pilipinas-Universe 1984 Desiree Verdadero-Abesamis is from Luisiana, Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia-Pacific International 2015 and Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2019 Leren Bautista is from Los Banos, Miss International 2005 Precious Lara Quigaman, among others are certified Lagunenses.
For this year’s Miss UPH, there are three damsels from Laguna who are vying for the title like Eloisa Jauod of San Pedro City, Rendelle Ann Caraig of Los Banos ang Yllana Marie Aduana of Siniloan.
This is the first time that not only one or two but three representatives are allowed to compete in the national pageant.
Good luck to Eloisa, Rendelle Ann and Yllana Marie.
Meanwhile, if given the chance, Aimee Torres, the original singer of the cult song “Pusong Bato” would want to join beauty contest in the past.
“Pero mahiyain po ako pero gusto kong sumali (But I was a shy girl at the time but I really wanted to join beauty contests),” confessed Aimee.
At the time, she and her family were staying in Tondo and a lot of their neighbors were convincing her to try her luck in beauty searches but she respectfully begged off.
“Pero ngayon po, mas gusto ko pa rin pong kumanta (I prefer singing over joining beauty contests),” she qualified.
Look, she became successful as a singer especially when she released her first single, “Pusong Bato” which was an overnight hit.
At the moment, singing is Torres passion and during the 1st birthday of her godson Amari, also known as Tummie held at the grand ballroom of The Orchard Golf and Country Club in Dasmarinas, Cavite, a town in the CALABARZON region, Aimee was requested to sing.
