The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) is encouraging individuals interested in aviation, as the agency is now accepting applications for the Comprehensive Air Traffic Service Course (CATS).
CAAP Director General Manuel Antonio Tamayo said that this program for Batch 19 presents an opportunity for "dedicated individuals to play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of Philippine airspace."
Air traffic controllers are responsible for overseeing aircraft movements, ensuring the safety of flights and responding quickly to any emergencies, all of which are crucial for the smooth operation of the country's aviation system.
Interested applicants can review the eligibility requirements on CAAP's official social media pages and submit their completed application forms, along with the required documents, in person or via mail/courier no later than 5:00 p.m. on May 30, 2025.
Qualified candidates will take the nationwide examination on June 28, 2025.
Those who are successful will move on to the interview round, followed by a medical check-up at a later date.
CAAP's air traffic controllers undergo extensive training in crisis response, equipping them to handle in-flight emergencies, severe weather conditions, and technical failures with precision.
Their skill in making quick and well-informed decisions in under pressure situations has been crucial in safeguarding and reducing disruptions in air travel.
Tamayo emphasized the critical role of air traffic controllers, stating that they serve as the guardians of Philippine skies, ensuring that every aircraft reaches its destinations safely and efficiently.
"We encourage passionate individuals to embark on this rewarding career and uphold the highest standards of aviation safety," Tamayo said.
