When it rains, it pours on Philstagers, a group of theater artists led by writer, actor, director and producer Vince Tanada.
They have just taken a pause in making the rounds of the musical “Juan Luna” in various parts of the country when the Friends of Cultural Concerns, an organization of culturati and philanthropists from the upper bracket of society, called them up to stage an annual showcase of music and dance arts.
“This time, Friends of Cultural Concerns is staging a show whose theme is French. It is a very interesting project,” informed Mari Hilario, the director of the event to be held at the Makati Shangri-La on October 21 (Monday).
“We chose Philstagers this year because we believe that the group has something very exciting to offer,” said Hilario.
“We have been doing this event with diverse themes for years and they have always been successful,” he added.
The proceeds of the show, said Mari, is for the benefit of the members of any theater group Friends of Cultural Concerns has chosen.
“It is a support system to the artists like the members of Philstagers,” explained Hilario.
